Biography

Viviano Diaz Y Lozada was born in Montones, Las Piedras, Puerto Rico on 3 January 1931 to Tomas Diaz Y Medina and Trinidad Lozada de Diaz, who married in on 9 July 1928 in Humacao. [1] [2] He had an older sister Margarita , and a younger sister Alejandra .[3]

Vivano lost his mother when he was very young--possibly before he was four years old. Trinidad must have died before 1940, possibly before 1935. Tomás is listed as a widower on the 1940 census. [4] The 1940 Census indicates that Tomás had been struggling to find work and has been unemployed for 20 weeks and has worked only 12 weeks in the past year.[5] Viviano isn't listed as living with his father on the 1940 census, but there is a record of his living in 1935 with his Aunt Engracia and her husband in Montones, Las Piedras, so maybe they took him in to help Tomás after Trinidad died.[6]

There is a record of Viviano residing in Kissimmee, Florida sometime between 1950 and 1993, so he might still be alive.[7]

1940 US Census - "Tomás Diaz Y Medina", age 42, is enumerated in his household in a rural area of Montones, Las Piedras, Puerto Rico with two of his children, Margarita, Age 8 and Alejandra, Age 5. Vivano isn't listed and Tomás is described as a widower. The census indicates that he's not just a farm laborer but has only been employed 12 weeks in the past year and has been unemployed for 20 weeks.
